Dr. Chris Roman earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oklahoma State University, where he began his academic journey in a behavioral research laboratory investigating the behavior of Africanized honeybees. Transitioning his focus to human behavior, he joined a social psychology laboratory studying the effects of co-rumination on women's health. Driven by a passion for understanding human behavior in applied settings, Chris pursued a doctorate in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego. His doctoral research concentrated on emotional intelligence and its impact on job satisfaction and turnover intentions within the medical field. Further enhancing his expertise, Chris obtained an MBA in Finance and earned several HR certifications, including the Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR) designation.

Throughout his academic and professional career, Chris gained extensive experience in sales and recruitment, propelling him into the life sciences industry. He began in recruitment augmentation within regulatory and validation roles for companies such as Sanofi and Gilead. Subsequently, Chris was recruited by Pfizer in San Diego. Over his career, he has served as a content expert for the recruitment of scientific personnel across large pharmaceutical companies, small biotech, medical device companies and startups. Chris has over a decade of extensive experience staffing all phases of drug development, including pre-clinical, manufacturing, clinical, and commercial stages. Additionally, he has led HR functions for cell therapy startups, where his responsibilities included designing performance and compensation plans, technology implementations, talent acquisition processes and buildout, employee relations, benefits administration, development planning, and career ladder development.
